Uncle Scrooge’s most prized possession is his first earned wage, his number 1 Dime. It first appeared in the story, “The Round Money Bin” within the comic book, Uncle Scrooge #3 in 1953. The plot thread & Dime were conceived by legendary artist and Uncle Scrooge creator, Carl Barks. I was introduced to Scrooge’s number 1 Dime through the DuckTales cartoon series in 1987.

I’ve been a Disney ducks fan since childhood. And, with my fascination for relics related to luck and fortune, I enjoy exploring the history of Scrooge McDuck’s #1 Dime. I backtracked, collecting and reading all of the Dime’s appearances and mentions throughout its 70+ year history. It took a number of years to track down many of the great Dime appearances from countries like Brazil, Denmark, Hungary, Italy and Sweden but I feel confident that I have compiled a comprehensive reference library of Scrooge’s number one Dime within comics.

Join me in celebrating and documenting the most entertaining Dime in Disney’s history. If you know of a book that Scrooge’s Dime appears in that I’ve not provided on this site, please contact me at ofducksanddimes@gmail.com and I’ll be sure to get it listed. Thank you for visiting. -John
